Making for the closest race in months, “The Smurfs” and “Cowboys & Aliens” are neck-in-neck when it comes to box office earnings over the weekend of July 28-30, 2011.
The Neil Patrick Harris/ Sofia Vergara fronted “Smurfs” film garnered approximately $13 million on Friday while trending towards a total of $40 million on its opening weekend.
Meanwhile, Daniel Craig and Olivia Wilde’s sci-fi/thriller “Cowboys & Aliens” has exactly the same numbers thus far, making #13 million on opening day en route to an estimated $40 million weekend.
Rounding out the top five at the box office are the Chris Evans spearheaded “Captain America: The First Avenger” ($25 million), followed by “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2″ ($22 million) and “Crazy, Stupid, Love” ($20 million).

Oregon resident Sandy MicMillan recently took a quick trip to her local Walmart to pick up chips, sour cream, and coffee creamer (this detail is not important, I just thought I would call your attention to her shopping list). A 5th accuser in the Bishop Eddie Long sexual misconduct settlement has been revealed as Centino Kemp. He is a 22-year-old musician and Atlanta resident who sports a tattoo on his arm about his "relationship" with the New Birth pastor. See the tattoo and get the deets inside….
We told you earlier that Bishop Eddie Long had reached a settlement with four accusers in his sexual misconduct case, but now a 5th accuser has been revealed.
The FOX 5 team in Atlanta has revealed that 22-year-old musician Centino Kemp, who was not named in the original lawsuit, was a big factor in the settlement. In fact, sources speculate that Centino helped the plantiffs reach a settlement because Bishop Eddie Long was "VERY" uncomfortable with Centino’s presence anywhere near this case. But why?
Well, from the outset, Centino is….different…from the other plantiffs we’ve seen. Let’s just say he is far removed from hypermasculine hip-hop imagery. And by that we mean he’s not afriad to rock a perm or lipstick.
When Fox 5 approached Centino, he would not offer up much by way of commentary about Bishop Eddie Long…but his music and tattoo speak for themselves. He sports a tattoo on his arm that reads "
"Eddie Long. Never a Mistake, Always a Lesson"
Hmmm. Wonder if he was inspired by Rihanna’s "Never A Failure. Always A Lesson" tatt. And according to FOX 5, most of Centino’s music is from the perspective of a scorned lover and does address his stance on the church…which isn’t always positive.
One source said Centino, who is from the Bahamas, met the bishop while he was a college student in Florida, but his apperance in the lawsuit threw most for a loop.
Centino joined in the settlement talks after he heard about the other young men’s lawsuits and though he never sued, he did become a part of the final settlement.
One lawyer familiar with the case told FOX that Centino was "different from the other young men," "one piece of the puzzle that never fit," and he made the case "more difficult."
SMH…..the piece may not have fit but it seems like Centino is cashing checks like the other four plantiffs so…..Bishop Long knows wassup.

Tami Roman of VH1′s "Basketball Wives" called into TT Torrez’s Richmond, VA radio show to dish about slapping Meeka Claxton in the face, Evelyn Lozada and Jennifer Williams’ fight, and whether she is returning next season. Get the deets inside…..
Fiesty Tami Roman, the breakout star of "Basketball Wives," recently gave a radio interivew about Monday’s "knockout" episode where Tami got into a fight with castmate Meeka Claxton and the lawsuit that’s brewing under the surface.
Tami didn’t get to see Monday night’s episode (because she and the ladies were filming the reunion), but she still shared the background about what happened.
During her interview, Tami said that Meeka came on the show and lied a lot, but she wanted to give her an opportunity to tell the truth about what comments she had made about her. Well….that didn’t happen. So Tami shared,
“As we’re having this discussion all I see, which I have asked her not to do, was her getting ready to get up…ya know with her hand. Don’t put your hand up because I don’t know what you’re going to do. I don’t know if you’re going to swing at me. So I basically, you know, I have a defense mechanism that has always been apart of who I am and when I saw that hand…I snapped cause I’m like I don’t know what you’re going to do and I had to defend myself so that’s what y’all saw last night.”
Tami added that she hates dishonesty and chooses not to associate herself with Meeka. But what about that lawsuit? Tami said she had not been served any papers but the lawsuit issue did come up during the reunion special.
Meeka told the ladies she was not at liberty to discuss it. And what did Tami say about that? That she won’t return next season if Meeka is on the show because she won’t work with someone who is suing her. She said VH1 would have to choose between she and Meeka based on who’s more valuable. I’m sure that won’t be a hard decision for Shaunie and the producers. Sorry Meeka!
During the interview, she also said she’s not happy that the other ladies don’t get along with Royce. She wishes they could make up because the other ladies refuse to tape with Royce and that upsets the dynamic, often leaving she and Suzie in the middle.
She also spoke about Evelyn and Jennifer’s fight. Apparently it all went down in Italy because Evelyn was waiting for the radio interview to be sent to her so she could confront Jennifer about it. In that situation, Tami says Evelyn was upset that Jennifer basically didn’t have her back.

But, out of respect for the bats**t insane few of you who do not get wet at the sight of Ryan, I am putting all of today’s Gosling news in one post. Do they have internet in mental institutions? Maybe not. Anyway, where to begin. Well, first, Ryan was “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night, and he brought along his dog George. George has a mohawk. He also likes apples, which Ryan feeds to him by biting into the apple himself and taking the piece out of his mouth and giving it to George. Coincidentally—kismet!—Lucca loves apples and this is exactly how I feed them to her. Exactly. I thought it was just our thing, but apparently it’s our and Ryan and George’s thing. Just saying. Also, Lucca has the exact same hotspot on her foot at George. Soulmates?
But enough about Lucca and George and their fated puppy love. After the jump, Ryan talks about going to the Turkish Baths (in my neighborhood!) and licking a sweaty man’s belly.

Last night, DJ Paul and Eva Marcille caught an Usher performance during the HTC Status Social launch event. See pics inside and listen to Kelly Rowland’s new single and watch a clip of her on an upcoming episode of "Single Ladies."
Last night, "HTC Status Social" threw a launch event with a special concert performance by Usher at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
Maybe it was a bad camera angle but Usher looked tired on the green carpet…and he hadn’t even hit the stage yet.
Actress Tiffany Hines attended the launch.
Actress Kimberly Elise was there too.
Former "Girlfriends" star Jill Marie Jones was also in attendance.
Dawn Robinson of En Vouge supported the event.
Denyce Lawton was there.
Eva Marcille rocked a corset and looked fab.
Eva Marcille was joined by her girls Denyce Lawton, Nikki Chu and Kelly Marie Dunn at the event.
Rosa Acosta also brought a few of her girlfriends out.
DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia was there too….lookin a little scary.
Towards the end, Usher hit the stage and entertained the crowd.

With Kelly’s Here I Am album hitting stores on Tuesday, she’s released another song to radio called "Feelin’ Me Right Now."
On the Rico Love produced track, Kelly sings about not needing anyone but herself. She says she’s Bonnie and she’s Clyde.

With her movie star hubby Tom Cruise hard at work, Katie Holmes spent the afternoon at her Miami, Florida hotel pool with daughter Suri Cruise on Sunday (July 17).
The two cuties were joined by family friend Mike Piazza (who happens to be an ex NY Mets catcher) and his daughter Nicoletta Piazza.
During the pool playdate, Suri practiced her front flips and played with beach balls and a noodle before taking a break to eat ham and cheese paninis.
Recently talking about balancing motherhood and work in the August issue of InStyle, Miss Holmes said, “My work has changed for the better [since becoming a mom]. I have more to bring to a role.”

Off to a monumental start, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2″ raced to a staggering lead at the box office over the weekend of July 15-17, 2011.
The Daniel Radcliffe/Emma Watson starring franchise finale delivered a $92.1 million opening day en route to an estimated $163+ million three day opening to beat out previous top earner “Dark Knight,” which garnered $158.4 million.
After two weeks in the top spot, Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington Whiteley’s action flick “Transfromers: Dark Of the Moon” was bumped into second with an approximate third weekend total of $23.5 million.
Rounding out the top five at the box office were Jennifer Aniston’s comedy “Horrible Bosses” ($17.5 million), followed by “Zookeeper” ($12.5 million) and “Cars 2″ ($8.2 million).
